However after having spent a few hours on it I find myself being left feeling rather empty inside. Possibly because I haven't really spent much time gaming over the past three years, and I might be past my game-mad faze. Every so often I would think of better (more useful) things that I could be doing with my time. It won't stop me logging on every now and again but I am adamant that I will not buy the pro version. This allows you to save your creations and gives you all the extra options. I fear on upgrading I will be sucked in spending every spare minute of the day just aimlessly placing and removing blocks.
Minecraft just saps time like anything, every time I look at the clock anther hour has gone. It isn't like other games that give a high excitement level, it is just plain mind numbingly addictive, it is like few other games I have played. It begs the question that does it lose it's purpose as a game when it provides so little excitement? What it does provide is a momentary sense of satisfaction, satisfaction of having built something cool, like Lego really, only you don't have to put Minecraft blocks back in the box.
